Review: Brother Thelonious, II

Blogged about North Coast's Brother Thelonious a while back, but finally got a chance to try it this weekend. A solid Belgian-style ale. Dark and malty, with a spiced yeast flavor. The review on BeerAdvocate was mixed. I'd agree that is is a standard, strong representation of the style, but it's not the most amazing Belgian I've ever had. That being said, I was very impressed and may be picking up a few extras to cellar in the basement!

I watched OSU hand Texas their ass on Saturday, and of course I had my trusty Sierra Nevade Pale Ale at my side. But I had the opportunity to sample a Busch Light (has anyone had this?) and a Natural Light (forgive my memory). Both were wet and fizzy with a subtle, beer-like flavor.
I will tell more when I can.

By the way, I did not spell Sierra Nevade wrong. That's the way it was misprinted on the label. That's right, I got the lucky misprinted labels, and I'm gonna win $500 million for it.

Actually, I think Sierra Nevade is a macro attempt at a beer that sounds like a craft brew, but isn't. Like Dogfish Heade and Rugoe.
